Albert Camus on the Three Antidotes to the Absurdity of Life

In a world whose absurdity appears to be so impenetrable, we simply must reach a greater degree of understanding among men, a greater sincerity. We must achieve this or perish. To do so, certain conditions must be fulfilled: men must be frank (falsehood confuses things), free (communication is impossible with slaves). Finally, they must feel a certain justice around them.

Au revoir France

Insane line for ticketing at CDG… but got bumped up to business. C’est la vie? Merci #icelandair

Skull

Learned a new card game as the sun set! La vie en rose… :D …but excited to start my journey home tomorrow morning!

Memento Mori

At the Picasso Museum today– a photograph of Picasso “contemplating death”… some days I push myself physically, some days mentally.

ɕ

Etre forte

pour etre utile. Sitting in a café, watching the Paris fire fighters rescue a cat. Can’t make this stuff up.

An historic selfie

Williams and Stephan taking a selfie atop La Dame. There was a lot of historic discussion this week, and I think this photo sums up a lot.

Three hours

If you’ve trained with the Yamak, you know. If you have not, you can not understand. Went to the limit- til my mind wanted to quit- and was then inspired by my friends! We start together: we finish together!

The hardest part

What is THE hardest part of parkour/art du déplacement? Knowing when to stop. Once you learn how to push yourself, it becomes very hard to admit that you must rest _now_, when your friends are still training. I am not injured, but if I continue today- if I continue now- I will break. So… mental strength now, so I can continue (forever. The morning I do not awake, is the day I quit!)

Fear is not real

Fear is not real. The only place that fear can exist is in our thoughts of the future. It is a product of our imagination, causing us to fear things that do not at present and may not ever exist. That is near insanity. Do not misunderstand me danger is very real but fear is a choice.
